Common questions about staying at the villa. If your question isn't answered here, our concierge is happy to help.
- Q.01What is the maximum capacity of the villa?
- The villa accommodates up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms with 5 beds. For larger groups (up to 30 for our University package), we partner with nearby accommodations in the Hieidaira area.
- Q.02What are check-in and check-out times?
- Standard check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 11:00. Earlier check-in and later check-out can be arranged on request, subject to availability.
- Q.03How do we get from Kyoto or the airport to the villa?
- From Kyoto Station, the villa is a 37-minute drive. From Kansai International Airport, approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. We highly recommend our MK chauffeur service (around ¥6,000–¥8,000 from Kyoto Station, or ¥30,000–¥50,000 for KIX transfer), which can be arranged through our concierge.
- Q.04Is the villa pet-friendly?
- Unfortunately, pets are not permitted at the villa. Certified service animals are welcome with prior notification.
- Q.05Can you accommodate dietary restrictions?
- Yes — we can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, halal, kosher, and allergen-specific requests. Please share dietary requirements at least 7 days before arrival so we can prepare accordingly.
- Q.06Is smoking permitted?
- The villa is entirely smoke-free indoors. Designated outdoor areas on the rooftop terrace are available for smoking.
- Q.07What is included in the standard nightly rate?
- Full private use of the villa, all bedrooms, the rooftop terrace, Wi-Fi, full kitchen, and 46 amenities. Meals, transport, and experiences are quoted separately or as part of curated packages.
- Q.08Can we extend our stay or arrive on flexible dates?
- Yes. While our packages are structured for typical stay lengths (2 to 5 nights), we accommodate custom durations year-round, subject to availability.
- Q.09Is there a minimum stay requirement?
- Generally 2 nights minimum, extended to 3 nights during peak seasons (New Year, Golden Week, Obon, sakura, and autumn colour periods).
- Q.10What languages do you accommodate?
- Our concierge team is fluent in English and Japanese. For French, Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese), Korean, and other languages, certified interpreters can be arranged with advance notice.
- Q.11Can we combine the villa stay with martial arts training?
- Yes — our partner Budo Studio 360 is a short transfer away. Several of our packages (The Retreat, The Study, The Sojourn) integrate martial arts training with villa accommodation.
- Q.12What is your cancellation policy?
- 30 days prior: full refund minus a ¥30,000 processing fee. 29–14 days: 50% refund. 13–7 days: no refund. 6 days or less: 100% charge. Force majeure cases (natural disasters, pandemics) are handled separately.
